why would your cap to your fuel injection crack looks like it was cross threaded .

I have a 2011 Polaris sportsman x2 less than 40 hr’s and the engine light has come on twice. once about a month ago and once today. if I shut it off and restart it it will not come back on not sure what to look for. it’s a fairly new machine. any idea’s?
